Culture Reset 2027
Being promoted to a managerial or supervisory position requires an identity shift from ‘performer’ to ‘developer of people’ and from ‘peer/friend’ to ‘boss’. Without guidance, new people managers often struggle to find their footing.
In this 2-day training, managers deepen their understanding of the role, and what it takes to develop their direct reports, who may have very different personalities and learning styles from them, into strong performers.
They will understand that different subordinates require different ways of engagement and mentoring.
They will be guided to develop their own leadership style, and how to overcome challenges in order to create a wholesome and empowering environment for their team, where people feel trusted, supported and motivated to take greater ownership and deliver their best work.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
People managers who have at least one direct report
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
By the end of the 2-day programme, participants will be able to:
01
Understand their role as a People Manager
Balancing responsibility for delivering results with responsibility for guiding, developing and supporting their team.
02
Guide different people in different ways
Recognising that team members have different strengths, learning styles, motivations and developmental needs.
03
Communicate expectations and instructions more effectively
Providing sufficient context and creating two-way understanding for more effective task delegation.
04
Observe, diagnose and develop performance
Identifying where a team member is struggling and responding with appropriate guidance rather than immediately taking over or simply telling them what to do.
05
Give meaningful feedback that builds performance
Addressing gaps honestly while maintaining trust, motivation and ownership.
06
Develop their own identity as a People Manager
Becoming clearer about the kind of manager they want to be.
